DEPART Project Presented at the PASTECHL Conference in Bar, Montenegro

Prof. Radenko Matić PhD from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad (FSPE UNS), participated in the 3rd Annual Scientific Conference organized by Physical Activity and Sport Tech for a Healthy Lifestyle (PASTECHL).

The conference formed the scientific segment of the Montenegro Future Festival and took place in Bar, Montenegro, from April 23 to 26, 2026.

In front of a distinguished international audience, professor Matić presented two successful examples of sustainable sports tourism developed within the DEPART Interreg Europe project:

Camp Vidre is a nature-based sports and educational camp that offers diverse activities designed to develop skills, healthy habits, and environmental awareness among children and youth. The initiative contributes to local tourism development, environmental protection, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, and supports the sustainable development goals of the Kula and Bačka Topola municipalities.

Kula Regatta is a community-based annual regatta that creatively combines rowing, culture, and environmental action along the Great Bačka Canal. Since its launch in 2023, the event has transformed an underused waterway into a vibrant hub of sustainable tourism, youth empowerment, and ecological awareness.

Professor Matić’s participation in this international conference underscores the strong commitment of FSPE UNS to innovation in sport, sustainable tourism, and regional cooperation across the Western Balkans.
